Local Area

You can go across the bay to St Tropez, and share a taste of a rich and luxurious life style in this busy harbour waterfront. Many artists work and exhibit their paintings a long the quayside. If retail therapy is required sample the many boutiques and designer shops tucked away in the quaint old streets behind the port area. The market in St Tropez is held twice weekly (Tuesday and Saturday) and should not be missed, but if travelling by road be warned that during the high season, the road can be very congested so travel early or why not take the ferry from Port Grimaud itself? The fare is the same as the bus and its much more fun!

The following is just a small selection of the local restaurants. There are a great many more to choose from. During the high season, it is absolutely vital to book in advance.

For fresh air, exercise and an escape from city life, try the beautiful mountains of the Maures, which are situated between the coast road and the motorway. Driving up the winding roads leading to the parking area, followed by a walk through the country at La Garde Freinet to reach the ruined fort is definitely worth it to see the view out across Grimaud and the Golfe of St Tropez. Be prepared for walking across rocky scree slopes and take some water!

Amusements and entertainment's for children include an aqua theme park at La Mole and a similar one near St Maxime, a small funfair near to the supermarket, together with crazy golf.

For the adults there are tennis courts within 200 metres, and beautiful Golf courses all along the Cote d'Azur including Beauvallon and St.Maxime both within a ten minute drive. There is a superb go-karting track just a mile up the road towards Grimaud and much, much more including horseriding, sailing, diving, water-skiing, windsurfing, walking, cycling, swimming, mountain-biking, fishing - in fact you name it, it is probably available nearby.
